Postgraduate Education

The postgraduate education of Jinzhou Medical University (JZMU) began in 1979 with the joint postgraduate programs with China Medical University. In 1984, JZMU was authorized to grant master degrees and in 1999 was authorized to grant master degrees for the applicants with the equivalent education level. In 2003, JZMU started to cultivate doctoral students with China Medical University by the approval of the Ministry of Education.

There are 8 academic master degree authorization points of first-level discipline in Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Stomatology, Pharmacy, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Nursing, Biology and, Food Science and Engineering, and 59 academic master degree authorization points of second-level discipline. There are 5 professional master degree authorization points in Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture, and 4 joint doctoral degree authorization points. 

At present, over 1,700 postgraduate tutors and 38 doctoral tutors instruct more than 3,100 postgraduates in and out of the university.
