The School of Public Health is the second-level teaching unit of Jinzhou Medical University. It was established in December 2014. Its former name was the school of Public Health and Management established in 2010. There are 6 teaching and research offices: Epidemiology, Health Statistics, Maternal Child and Adolescent Health, Occupational Health and Environmental Health Occupational hygiene and Environmental health, Nutrition and food hygiene, Hygiene，offering 17 courses at all levels. There are one first-level master's degree granted right and 6 second-level master's degree granted rights.
The school currently has 30 full-time teachersincluding5 professors, 9 associate professors, 9 lecturers, 7 teaching assistants, 13 doctors (including currently studying PhD) and 17 master's; 46.6% of professors, associate professors and other senior titles, 10 master's supervisors, and 2 famous teachers of university level.
Preventive medicine has been approved as a provincial first-class construction site of undergraduate majors. The school has 2 provincial first-class courses, 1 provincial high-quality course, 1 university-level ideological and political demonstration course, 2 university-level postgraduate boutique courses, 1 university-level teaching team, and 2 off-campus practical education bases for university students in Liaoning Province.
In 2010, the major of preventive medicine began to recruit undergraduates. At present, there are 300 undergraduates, with an average postgraduate entrance examination rate of about 50%. The employment is mainly working in the centers for disease control and prevention, customs and civil servants. Master's students of public health and preventive medicine are started to recruit in 2005, till now there are currently 25 graduate students.
The school continues to strengthen the construction of disciplines, and studies on neurotoxicity mechanism of exogenous chemicals and heavy metals, health economics of occupational diseases and psycho Logical behavior of children and adolescents. It has undertaken a total of 5 national projects, 28 provincial and ministerial projects, and 6 horizontal projects, with a total funding of more than 2 million yuan. It has more than 140 scientific research papers published, including more than 30 SCI articles, 87 core journal articles in more than three categories.37 textbooks have been edited.
The school has an experimental teaching center of preventive medicine, and 16 preventive medicine teaching internship bases in Beijing, Liaoning and other places.
