The School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation of Jinzhou Medical University was established in January 2022. It is responsible for the construction of physical education, the training of exercise rehabilitation professionals, and the teaching and physical testing of exercise rehabilitation and public sports related disciplines.
At present, this school is responsible for the Exercise Rehabilitation major. We aim to cultivate high-quality applied professionals through a four-year undergraduate program towards the Bachelor of Science degree. In accordance with the slogan of Jinzhou Medical University, “Good moral refines oneself; good expertise rewards the world", the College of Physical Education and Sport Rehabilitation has been actively carried out practices on teaching reform and innovative talent cultivation.
There are in total 191 students in the School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation. The faculty members consist of 36 full-time teachers, Six of whom already got PhD degrees or in pursue of doctoral degree. Thirty of the teachers have Master degrees. Professional teachers graduated respectively from Beijing Sport University, Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shenyang Institute of Physical Education, Calgary University, Hiroshima University, etc. In addition, there are 19 double-qualified teachers engaged in clinical rehabilitation and treatment, which fully guaranteed the quality of professional teaching. The majority faculty members are young and middle-aged teachers, full of vigorousness and vitality.
The school supervises six teaching & research offices including Sports Medicine, Exercise Rehabilitation, Sports Training, Public Sports, Leisure Sports, and Ethnic Traditional Sports. Moreover, this college manages two affiliations - the Students Physical Fitness Test Center and the Exercise Rehabilitation Practical Teaching Center. The Students Physical Fitness Test Center was established in 2016. According to the requirements of the national student’s physical fitness standard issued by the Ministry of Education, nine physical fitness tests are conducted each year to all students in this university, and all test data are reported to the National Students Physical Fitness Testing Center in December annually. The Sports Rehabilitation Practical Teaching center includes sports function training and exercise rehabilitation laboratories, with a total investment of more than 3 million. There are 42 instruments and equipment available for the teaching and researching experiments of exercise rehabilitation and rehabilitation therapy, which provide good facilities for cultivating students' professional practical skills and enlightening their scientific research consciousness.
The school attaches great importance to the construction of teaching practice bases. The 1st affiliated hospital of Jinzhou Medical University and the 3rd affiliated hospital of Jinzhou Medical University are the bases for on-campus practice and training, both of which are Level-3 Grade-A hospitals. Off-campus practice bases including the sports medicine research institute of national sport general administration, the 6th medical center of Chinese people's liberation army general hospital, the Panjin witch ford hospital, the Beijing rehabilitation hospital affiliated to the Capital University of Medical Sciences, Beijing Der Connie orthopedic hospital, Beijing wisdom group, Liaoning rehabilitation center for the disabled, Dalian harbor hospital，the central hospital of Chaoyang, Jinzhou traditional Chinese medicine hospital, Jinzhou Central Hospital, Jinzhou Guta District hospital, etc. These practice bases provide good resources for cultivating students' professional skills and social adaptive ability, along with good employment opportunities for future career of these undergraduate students.
The Exercise Rehabilitation major of the School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation began to recruit students in 2012, and it was approved as a pilot major for applied transformation of Liaoning Province in 2016. There have been five generations of graduates so far. Some of the graduates are pursuing Master’s degrees at Shanghai Institute of Physical Education, Tianjin Institute of Physical Education, Jinzhou Medical University, Hebei Medical University and Guilin Medical College. Some graduates became employees of the Research Institute of Sports Medicine of the National Sport General Administration, Beijing Der-Coney Orthopedic Hospital, Dalian Port Hospital, Dalian Ship Rehabilitation Hospital, Dalian Weteo International Hospital, The Third People's Hospital of Huizhou and the Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Guiding Town and other major hospitals around China.
