The School of Basic Medicine of Jinzhou Medical University was formerly known as the Basic Department, which was founded in 1958. It was officially established in 1997 and renamed the Basic Medical College in 2011. It is an important second-level teaching and scientific research institution of the school. It undertakes the professional basic courses and undergraduate students, graduate students, international students and other multi-level and departments, teaching and scientific research of professional courses.
There are experienced teachers and technicians in our school, with 1 famous national teacher, 6 professors of special subsidies from the State Council government, 25 teachers holding the following awards: top scholars, excellent experts, special professors, excellent teachers, famous teachers, etc. 28 teachers have been selected into the innovative leading talents, young top talents and millions of talents project in Liaoning Province.
There are currently two undergraduate majors, medical experimental technology and basic medicine. We make full use of the high-quality teaching resources of Shanghai Oriental Hospital and other units, integrate with industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation and other means to achieve a seamless connection between the specifications of talent training and the development of the industrial and the actual needs of employers, and cultivate applied technical talents.
The school adheres to discipline development as the first priority and steadily improves the strength of the discipline. There are two master's degrees in basic medicine and biology, and master's degree for second-level disciplines in pharmacology. In 2018, the first-level discipline of basic medicine was selected as a first-class discipline construction project of colleges and universities in Liaoning Province. Pharmacology entered the world's top 1% of ESI for the first time in 2021.
At present, there is 1 major science and technology platform for colleges and universities in Liaoning Province, 5 provincial key laboratories, 1 provincial collaborative innovation center, and 1 provincial college innovation team. We have successively established academic exchanges and cooperation with many universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad, actively expanded joint training methods, and provided talent support and intellectual support for local, social and economic development.
