In order to promote the development of China’s medical insurance education and improve the quality of medical insurance professional talent training comprehensively, the 8thNational Medical Insurance Education Forum was held in Jinzhou from June 2nd to 4th. The forum was hosted by the China Medical Insurance Education Alliance, organized by Jinzhou Medical University (JZMU), and co-organized by the School of Humanities and Health Management. More than 100 experts and scholars from domestic research institutes, medical universities and systems attended the forum.
President Ding Weiguang delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He briefly reviewed the development of China’s medical insurance system and medical insurance education and then introduced the development of insurance career in JZMU, which serves the “Healthy China” strategy and meets the nation and society’s demand for medical insurance professionals. JZMU took the lead in the construction of the medical insurance major of “New medicine + new liberal arts” and cultivated a great number of highly competent medical insurance talents in the past 22 years.
An award ceremony “Lefan Cup” Teaching Competition of National College Medical Insurance Professional for Young Teachers was also held. 4 outstanding prizes, 6 first prizes, and 16 second prizes were awarded after experts’ evaluation. Wen Linlin and Yu Shui from the School of Humanities and Health Management of JZMU won the outstanding prize and the first prize respectively.
In the keynote forum, four experts gave special reports on theoretical research, policy interpretation, medical insurance practice, and hospital management. Three sub-forums were held simultaneously, with the first sub-forum entitled “Training of Medical Insurance Professionals” , the second entitled “Disciplinary Construction of Medical Insurance Major”, in which Professor Cong Liang, teacher from School of Humanities and Health Management, introduced his research “Research and Practice on Curriculum Construction of Medical Insurance Major”. The third sub-forum was entitled “Alumni Forum of Medical Insurance Major of JZMU”, in which Sun Hongzhi, Vice-President of JZMU, delivered a speech, and five alumni introduced their experience on career planning, life insurance claims, extracurricular practical education of medical university students, sharing of university life and postgraduate entrance examination and, psychological regulation in inter-disciplinary postgraduate entrance examination.
