On August 26th, the 2023 Academic Symposium on Infectious Medicine and the Inaugural ceremony of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Human and Zoological Disease Prevention and Control were successfully held in Sheraton Hotel, Jinzhou. Academicians of CAE Member, CAS Member, Tsinghua University, Nanjing University and East China Normal University attended the symposium.
President Ding Weiguang presided over the symposium and addressed the opening speech. He expressed the gratitude to the attendance of academicians.
He pointed out that JZMU is the only independent higher medical institution in China with coexistence and integration of human medicine and veterinary disciplines. In recent years, JZMU has vigorously promoted the “Nine Major Plans” and “Ten Projects” based on the enlarged health conception, among which the “Characteristic Discipline Development Plan” and “Science and Technology Innovation Pilot Project” have promoted the deep integration of medical science and multiple disciplines. The establishment of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Human and Zoological Disease Prevention and Control at JZMU will effectively boost the integration of knowledge innovation, technological innovation, and regional innovation in the field of zoonotic diseases, and make due contributions to the comprehensive improvement of the level and capability of major epidemic prevention and control technology of the nation.
