To commemorate the martyrs and cultivate students’ strong love for the university and the country, JZMU launched a theme education activity at Qingming Festival.
In 2007, students of JZMU, Zhang Hao, Zhang Xuefeng and Lin Bo, bravely rescued a drowning child, but unfortunately, Zhang Hao and Zhang Xuefeng died in the rescue. The Ministry of Education awarded them the honorary title of “National Excellent College Student” and awarded Zhang Hao and Zhang Xuefeng the title of martyrs.
For many years, generations of JZMUer have expressed their condolences in front of the hero statue to pass down the spirit of great love through memorable events. In this year, more than 500 representatives of teachers and students participated in the event and held a memorial ceremony at the Haobofeng Memorial Square, which named after the three heroes.
