The 2024 Jinzhou Marathon started with a gunshot by the Xiaoling River of Jinzhou at 7:30 on June 2nd. Nearly 10,000 runners from home and abroad gathered in Jinzhou. The event was divided into four units: marathon, semi-marathon, 10 km-marathon and mini-marathon. A carefully planned route allows participants to fully appreciate the natural scenery and cultural charm of Jinzhou city while running along the Binhe Road, Yunfei Bridge and Donghu Forest Park. Alongside the scenic spots of the marathon route, faculty and students of JZMU who enjoyed the event also became highlights.
A successful marathon event relies on a professional medical support team. The Hospital Management Center of JZMU organized nearly 100 experienced doctors, anesthetists, nurses, and medical staff from the First Affiliated Hospital and the Third Affiliated Hospital of JZMU into a specialized medical team. They were responsible for providing medical treatment services at 10 medical aid stations and emergency rescue work with 12 ambulances, ensuring comprehensive coverage of medical services throughout the race. Volunteers from the Student Rehabilitation Association of School of Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation received unanimous praise by providing professional post-race rehabilitation, massage and other services to athletes.
As the sole co-organizer of this competition, JZMU leveraged its disciplinary expertise to assist in the event and provided professional and warm voluntary services to marathon enthusiasts from all over the world and contributed to the development of sports culture in Jinzhou.
